Stellar II

Hand built stoneware, pierced form, main body glazed with copper patina, piercing glazed with ultramarine, oxidation fired to 1230 degrees.
Frostproof - safe outside

This was a follow on to Stellar - a smaller piece and I was trying to replicate that finish but on a larger scale
I was very pleased with how it turned out and was delighted when someone found this on my website and bought it.

Unfortunately, it arrived at my clients in many pieces. This is a very substantial piece and when high fired, stoneware becomes extremely strong - in effect stone.
I am still awaiting the outcome of Royal Mails investigation into what happened to it in transit - I have sent many pieces by the same service with the same packaging with never a problem
Of course I immediately reimbursed my poor client but he was understandably very upset

This week I'm commencing firing on a replacement piece - one can never tell how each piece will turn out - they can never be identical but I hope that it will appeal (fingers crossed)

In view of this, I no longer send items this way and am investigating specialist courier delivery.
