Xian Warrior
Frostproof Stoneware - oxide layers and then high fired to 1230 degrees (not terracotta which is very much NOT frostproof))
I created this many years ago after being blown away by an exhibition at the British Museum of figures from the Terracotta Army in Xian. I was fascinated to learn that every one of these thousands of more than life size warriors were made by hand by hundreds of potters.
My warrior has been in the garden a long time so has accumulated some lichen - I like it so left in place but it’s very easily brushed off
